(Henderson, TN) -- No. 3 seed Trevecca (31-15, 10-8) faced No. 6 Seed Freed-Hardeman (16-20, 4-16) at 11:00 a.m. today in the first round of the TranSouth Conference Tournament.

In another first round upset, #6 seeded Freed-Hardeman edged out a victory over the Lady Trojans of Trevecca in the first round of the TranSouth Conference Tournament. Trevecca gained an early lead in the top of the first inning, but Freed-Hardeman countered with two runs in the bottom of the inning to take an early 2-1 lead. The Lady Trojans, led by sophomore Rone' Phelps' solo homerun, tied the game in the third inning and, after the Lady Lions took a temporary one run lead in the bottom of the 6th inning, Trevecca tied the game once again in the top of the 7th. Freed-Hardeman, having let their lead slip away twice already, grabbed the lead for the final time in the bottom of the seventh as Darian Denton knocked in the game winning run with one out and two runners on to take the close win. Lady Trojan Hollie Shane threw the complete game 8 hitter in the losing effort while Freed-Hardeman's Tracie Tiensvold picked up the complete game win.
