(Mayfield, Ky.) -- The Trevecca softball team (30-14, 9-7)
traveled to Mayfield, Kentucky for a non-conference doubleheader
against Mid-Continent College (24-12). Mid-Continent silenced the
Lady Trojans bats and swept Trevecca 4-3 and 3-1.
(Game 1) -- Despite tallying 11 hits in the first game, the Lady
Trojans only managed three runs while Mid-Continent, thanks to a
three run second inning and getting the deciding run in the bottom
of the sixth, totaled 4 runs for the 4-3 win. The Lady Trojans tried
a mini-comeback in the final inning after getting to within one run
of Mid-Continent but it wasn't enough as two Lady Trojans errors
contributed to the loss. Sophomore Hollie Shane (16-7) took the loss
for Trevecca.
(Game 2) -- Appearing to turn things around in the second game,
the Lady Trojans grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning. However,
the lead was short lived as Mid-Continent tied it up in the bottom
of the third inning then added a run in each of the fifth and sixth
innings to take the 3-1 victory. Mid-Continent's Taryn Green and
Amanda Frank combined to scatter eight Trevecca hits in the win.
Wendy Allen (9-6) gave up three runs on 11 hits to take the loss.
