Trevecca ran up against a hot shooting Carson Newman squad and
fell on the road 119-85. Carson Newman shot a blistering 62.8% from
the field and hit a school record 18 three pointers, while shooting
62.1% from behind the arc. While the Trojans fought hard all game
long, they could not find an answer for the Eagles hot shooting.
Carson Newman's Kyle Gribble played with Trevecca's Jared Austin
at White County High School. Gribble scored 26 points for Carson
Newman, while the Eagles were paced by Calvin Owen who added 27
points.
The Trojans were led by Jared Austin who scored 21 points. Darryl
Keckler added 18 points in his first action of the season. Wesley
Poe scored 16 points and Curtis Lewis chipped in 10 points to round
out four Trojans who scored in double figures. Trevecca shot 46.2 %
from the field, 31% from the three point line and 44.4% from the
free throw line for the game.
