(Lebanon, Tenn.) -- Trevecca defeated Cumberland University 92-57
at Moore Gym two weeks ago, but the young Bulldogs had different
ideas for the rematch. CU had won three of their last four games
since TNU blasted them two weeks earlier. The Bulldogs carried their
recent momentum and handed Trevecca their second consecutive loss
65-53. It's the lowest point total for the Trojans this season.
Cumberland started hot and led 33-16 with three minutes remaining
in the first half. Trevecca rallied over the final three minutes of
the first half with a 13-2 run to make the halftime score 35-29.
Trevecca used a 12-6 run to start the second half, which tied the
score at 41 with 16:02 to play. Trevecca had several opportunities
to take the lead, but instead saw Cumberland hold the Trojans
scoreless for more than 8 minutes. After the draught Trevecca
trailed 49-43 and wouldn't get any closer during the final seven
minutes.
The Trojans drop to 15-8 overall and 6-3 in the TranSouth
Conference. Trevecca leads the all-time series with Cumberland
29-12. Trevecca is now tied for first place in the TranSouth with

shy of 300 career wins.
