After suffering a loss from TranSouth Conference opponent Lyon
College, the Trevecca women's basketball team bounced back with a
win against Martin Methodist College on Saturday evening. The game
began as a defensive battle as both teams struggled shooting from
the field early on. The Lady Trojans only shot 25.7% from the field
in the first half, but thanks to their defense, the Lady Trojans
went into the locker room at half time deadlocked in a 28-28 tie.
In the second half, Trevecca found their rhythm once more as
junior Lindsey Fly dropped in 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead the
Lady Trojans to a 67-61 victory. Fly's stats were good enough for
her 8th double-double of the season. Senior Jennifer Wilson added 17
points and was a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw line while
freshman Kristin Scoggins tallied 7 points and 4 steals in the
winning effort.
The Lady Trojans improve to 14-2 on the season and 1-1 in
TranSouth Conference play. Trevecca will next travel to Jackson, TN
to face #2 Union University on Thursday, Jan 23 at 6pm.
