(Jackson Field) -- The Trevecca baseball team (28-18, 9-10) won
the first game of a three games series against TranSouth Conference
opponent Berry College (21-21, 8-11) by a final score of 7-3.
Trevecca jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning then
added five more runs over the next three innings spurred by senior
Nick Hiter's two run home run in the 5th inning. Trojan sophomore
ace Keith Black kept the Vikings scoreless for eight innings until
Berry battled back for a three run 9th inning led by a three run
blast off the bat of senior Nick Sun. The rally wasn't enough
however, as Trevecca's Shawn Sabo came on in relief to claim the
Trevecca win 7-3. Keith Black improved to 5-3 on the season while
Berry's Josh Beshears fell to 7-4.
