(Jackson Field) -- The Trevecca baseball team (26-17, 8-10)
hosted Lyon College (28-24, 7-11) for three games this weekend. In
the first game on Friday night, Lyon rallied in the final inning to
get 4 runs off 6 walks to take the 5-4 victory. Lyon carried that
momentum into Saturday.
(Game 1) - Lyon's Trevor Lay (6-5) silenced the Trojan bats in
the first game scattering eight hits, giving up only three runs, and
getting the complete game win as Lyon took the victory 8-3. Senior
Trojan Nick Hiter batted 2 for 2 including a two run homer in the
6th inning but Lyon countered with Nathan Elliot's three run homer
in the fourth in the winning effort. Senior Trojan Eddy Sanchez
falls to 6-2 on the year.
(Game 2) - Trevecca refused to surrender to a three game sweep as
junior Kyle Felts, with two outs and the Trojans down by a run in
the final inning, launched a two run game winning blast over the
right field fence as Trevecca took the come-from-behind victory 8-7.
Trojans Don Waller and Billy Johnson added to the offensive charge
with a solo homer and two run home run respectively while junior B.J.
Jenkins got his third win of the season in relief.
