(Game 1) -- Trevecca scored five runs in the top of the second
inning and three more runs, one per inning, over the next three
innings before rain resulted as the only thing that seemed to be
able to stop the Trojans. The game was temporarily postponed on
Friday night and resumed Saturday morning with the Trojans leading
10-4. Trevecca added 2 more when the game resumed and took the
victory 12-7. Keith Black improved to 3-3 on the season with the win
while Justin Curtis batted 4 for 4 with three runs and three RBIs in
the winning effort.
(Game 2) -- The second game of the weekend series opened with
Trevecca grabbing a quick run in the third inning. The lead,
however, was short lived as Union picked up three runs in the fourth
inning. The Trojans battled back with two runs in the seventh to tie
the score at 3-3 and send the game into extra innings. Four bonus
innings later the Trojans finally added a run thanks to a game
winning sacrifice fly off the bat of Billy Johnson. Sophomore Adam
Duncan shut down the Bulldogs in the bottom half of the inning to
claim his third victory of the season.
(Game 3) -- Having won both games in the series, the Trojans
prepared for the third and final match of the weekend but only
managed one run in the third inning as Union took the victory 3-1.
B.J. Jenkins fell to 2-4 on the season but threw a complete game six
inning performance giving up only three hits in the game.
