(Jackson Field) -- After defeating three top 20 NAIA teams in
their season opener at a tournament at the University of Auburn-
Montgomery, the Trevecca baseball team came home for the first time
this season and took two wins from Crichton College. In the first
game, junior Dusty Johnson launched a three run homer in the 6th
inning to give the Trojans a 5-2 win. Senior Shawn Sabo picked up
the win in relief as the Trojans improved to 4-1 on the season.
In the second game, Crichton jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in
the first inning, but a 7 run third inning and a 5 run fourth inning
capped by a two run homer by junior Eric Reid, a 2 run homer by
junior Justin Curtis, and a 3 run homer by sophomore James Sparkman
made the difference as Trevecca won 14-4. Senior Eddy Sanchez picked
up his second win of the season giving up 4 runs in 4 innings to get
the win.
The Trojans improve to 5-1 on the season having now won 4 in a
row.
