Kevin Hite begins his second season as assistant coach and
pitching coach for the Trevecca baseball team.
Coach Hite played at two tradition rich programs, Nashville’s
McGavock High School and Cumberland University in Lebanon,
Tennessee, prior to a five-year in stay in the San Diego Padres
system. Hite’s career numbers in the Padres’ system included a 16-16
record, 3.59 ERA, and 33 saves.
At Cumberland Hite twice went to the NAIA World Series where he set
or tied three World Series records. He is tied for the lowest ERA
with 0.00, is the only player to throw 2 shutouts in the same World
Series, and holds the record for consecutive scoreless innings with
20 and 1/3 innings. Coach Hite also holds the Cumberland record for
career wins with 30.
“I’m very excited about this year’s club, especially our pitching
staff,” comments Hite. “We have improved our talent level and expect
to eclipse last years 28 wins.”
