Jeff Forehand begins his third season as Trevecca's head baseball
coach. Prior to arriving at Trevecca, Forehand led Goodpasture
Christian High School in Madison, Tennessee, to three state baseball
titles (1999 Division II, 1997 Class A, and the 1995 Class A) and a
runner-up finish (1994) during his eight-year run as head coach.
Prior to Goodpasture, Forehand assisted his legendary father, Fred
Forehand, at Montgomery Bell Academy from 1990-1992.
Jeff Forehand, an All-City second baseman for Goodpasture Christian
Academy, played in college under the legendary Dave Whitten at
Belmont University. His resumé includes State Coach of the Year
honors in 1995, 1997, and in 1999. A graduate of Belmont University,
Forehand earned the master's of education at Tennessee State
University in 1995.
Coach Forehand has made great strides in recruiting players from
local high schools and junior colleges. His recruiting has started
to show signs on the field of play. The 2001 season saw Mario Campos
set the Trevecca single-season homerun record, make the All-Region
XI first team, voted TranSouth player of the year, and drafted by
the Boston Red Sox. In 2002 the team won the most games (28) since
1990. Terrence McClain and Chris Collins were named honorable
mention All American, and Keith Black was named to the All TranSouth
Team.
"With a strong class of returning players, incoming freshmen, and
transfers, we should be ready to compete everyday. We are excited
about our depth and experience of our team, especially on the
mound," Forehand observes.
Jeff and his wife, Karen, have two sons, Gant and Brooks.
