2002 - 2003
Trevecca Men's Golf

2002 - 2003 Men's Golf Season
Preview
The Trevecca Men’s golf team
built a solid foundation in its first three years. The team earned a
spot in the regional tournament twice out of its three years of
existence, but the team has set much higher goals for the upcoming
fourth season of play.
“I want to play in the nationals,” says sophomore Greg Lyon. Similar
comments have been made by other members of the team. Assistant
Coach Jacob Ward said, “I see the guys working to get better. They
want to not only compete, but to win.”
All signs point to a successful season. The fact that the oldest
players on the team are sophomores suggests a very bright future.
Freshman Robbie Wilson and transfer Lee Wilson (no relation) add to
a rich team depth. Returning golfers include Brent Crow, Kevin
Knight, Drew Lindgren, Greg Lyon, and Chad Martin.
Commented a smiling coach Bill Strickland, “Only time will tell, but
the potential is certainly there.”
The Trojans hope to build on a strong 2002 spring season by earning
a third berth in the Region XI Tournament this spring. |
