Trevecca @ Tennessee State University

Gentry Center, Nashville, Tennessee (11/16/01) - Trevecca traveled across town to face NCAA Division 1 Tennessee State University at the Gentry Center. Trevecca played the game close throughout and led for a great deal of the first half. With 13:31 to go in the first half Trevecca led 14-6 over the host Tigers. TSU rallied with a 14-2 run that put the Tigers in front 20-16 with 9:31 to go in the first half. Trevecca would cut the lead a couple of times, but eventually the Tigers would hold a 38-30 lead at the halftime break.

In the second half Trevecca continued to stay close, but TSU pulled to a 13-point (47-34) lead with 17:15 to go in the first half. Trevecca rallied with a 9-2 run that pulled the Trojans to within 6 points (49-43) with 14:32 remaining in the game. For all practical purposes TSU put the game away with a 19-10 run and established their largest lead of the game (I5 points) with 8:23 to go in the game. Trevecca did score 7 straight points to pull to within 8 points (68-60) with 5:55 to go. Trevecca would never get closer as the Tigers held on to claim a 11 point (88-77) victory over the visiting Trojans.

Trevecca had three players score in double figures. Jared Austin led the team with 17 points, Will Partin added 16, and B.T. Warren scored 15 points in his Trevecca debut. Warren had missed the first two Trevecca games with an foot injury. Jared Austin led the team with 8 rebounds. Will Partin and Darryl Keckler led the team with 5 assists.
