Nashville, TN. (02/23/02) - Trevecca pulled off it's second win in a row as
they ended the regular season with a 94-83 victory over Berry College. The
victory gives Trevecca a 16-13 record and assures the team of a winning record
for the second year in a row. The Trojans will travel to Martin Methodist
for a first round game in the TranSouth Athletic Conference tournament. The
game will start at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast over WNAZ 89.1 FM and WNRZ
91.5 FM in Dickson.
With the game tied at 9, Trevecca rolled off 9 straight points to secure a
18-9 advantage with 12:52 to go in the half. Berry cut the lead to 3 with 10:07
remaining in the half, but Trevecca scored 10 straight to pull ahead 30-17 with
6:34 to go in the half. Trevecca's largest lead of the half was 14 at 41-26
with 1:23 to go. Trevecca held a 41-31 halftime advantage.
With 12:14 to go in the game Trevecca was leading 60-46. Berry ran off 10
straight points to pull to within 4 points at 60-56 at the 10:29 mark. Trevecca
answered with a 7-0 run to extend the lead to 11 again with 8:56 to go. Berry
pulled to within 6 again at 76-70 with 4:20 to go. Trevecca ran off a 9-2 spurt
and sealed the game.
