Nassau, Bahamas (12/18/01) - Trevecca traveled to Nassau, Bahamas to play in the 2001 Nassau Sunshine Shootout. Trevecca's opening opponent The Master's College of Santa Clarita, California edged the Trojans 77-71 in the opening round of play. The loss breaks Trevecca's seven game winning streak and drops their record to 10-3 on the season. Trevecca tied the game at 68 with 1:32 remaining, but The Master's hit a couple of big three point shots and then hit their free throws down the stretch to clinch the victory.

Nick Ray and Brandon Howard led Trevecca with 15 points apiece for Trevecca. B.T. Warren scored 14 points for Trevecca. Bootsy Hyler led Trevecca with 7 rebounds. Trevecca hit 24 for 50 (48%) from the field, 2 for 14 (14.3%) from three point range, and 21 of 33 (63.6%) from the foul line.

Trevecca's three loses are to NCAA Division 1 Tennessee State University, #7 Southern Polytechnic, and to #25 The Master's College. Trevecca will play NCAA Division-II Drury College on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. You can listen to the broadcast by following the link at the bottom of this story.
