The Trevecca Lady Trojan volleyball will look to build on last season's success.
The Lady Trojans finished with a 22-17 record, while playing one of the toughest
schedules in the country. The tough schedule paid off as the ladies finished with a 8-4
record in the TranSouth Conference. During the last two seasons the team has compiled a
record of 54-30 under Head Coach Scott Jones. This two-year period is easily the best for
the program.
The team finished third in the TranSouth Conference's regular season race. The ladies
won two games in the TranSouth Conference tournament but lost before reaching the finals.
There were several personal highs this season. Natalie Pifer was voted to the Region XI
All-Region squad and to the TranSouth 1st Team All-conference Squad. Pifer also earned
TranSouth All-tournament Team honors. The sophomore from Frankfort, Indiana, finished
fifth on the TranSouth's assists per game (9.08 apg) list. Martie Newman also earned post
season honors, selected to the TranSouth 2nd Team All-conference Squad. This senior from
Pinetop, Arizona, finished the season seventh on the TranSouth kills per game list with
3.30 kills per game. Natalie Cameron finished the season as the league's seventh best
blocker. Natalie, a freshman from Antioch, Tennessee, averaged 1.03 blocks per game.
Zorica Grceva was next on the blocks list in eighth place. A junior from Macedonia,
Europe, Zorica averaged .97 blocks per game.
Head Coach Scott Jones had the team play a difficult schedule this season. The young
team learned some valuable lessons while on the road this season. Coach Jones believes
that benefits of the tough schedule will reach far beyond this year.
