Head Soccer Coach
Trevecca
ventures into its first season of intercollegiate soccer under
first-year head coach Stan Herod. Dr. Herod, a missionary to
Latin America for 27 years, has vast experience as a coach on
the international level. Herod's international experience will
not only help develop great players but also will build strong
people. Herod serves as head coach for both the men's and
women's programs at Trevecca.
Herod brings to the program much experience on and off the
field. He was selected as the Biola University Most Valuable
Player as a tennis player and was an all-district fullback on
the Biola soccer team. Herod also has experience as a principal,
athletic director, and coach for the Christian Academy of
Guatemala. Over the last three years Herod has led the school's
girls' soccer team to one second- and two first-place finishes.
Herod has a Ph.D. in intercultural education from Biola
University's School of Intercultural Studies and a master’s of
missions from Talbot Theological Seminary.
Trevecca is in the process of building a brand new soccer
complex on campus. The new field will be ready for the 2001 fall
season.
