2001 Lady Trojan Soccer
2001 Trevecca Women’s Soccer Season Preview
The Trevecca women’s soccer team plans to
improve last year’s 4-14 record with the addition of 16 newcomers.
Only seven members return from last year’s quad.
Returning team MVP Tawny Brown brings senior leadership and
stability to a young, second-year soccer team.
Newcomer Ashley Ereditario expects to control the goal this
season for the Lady Trojans. On
the defensive side of the ball freshmen Lauren Collins and Deanna
Davis join a solid returning core of Staci Jamison, Carolyn Pratt,
Rachael Wilkins, Jackie Gonzalez, and Kristin Baker.
In the middle of the field freshmen Rebecca Tuchez, Beth
Daniel, and Marissa Ewert join transfers Stephanie Barnes and
Jessica Shirer combine with returning starter Tawny Brown to make a
formidable midfield.
The Lady Trojans also expect improvement on
the offensive side of the ball.
Freshmen Bethany Young, Tori Sanchez, Christina Sance, and
Hether Terry join returning sophomore Amanda Thompson to form an
extremely talented offensive attack.
Transfer Karen Francis will bolster an already strong
offensive team.
The
Lady Trojans’ soccer team is also excited because they will be
playing on an all new on campus facility.
With these newcomers, including twelve freshmen, the 2001
Lady Trojans will be young, but they will have an enthusiasm that
cannot be coached into them.
Coach
Stan Herod expects the mix of transfers, incoming freshmen, and
returning players to give the Lady Trojans an edge in the
always-competitive TranSouth Conference. The 2001 season should
prove to be an exciting one for the Lady Trojans as they continue to
improve and build a strong foundation for many years to come.
