Batesville, Ark (02/08/01)-Lyon started the
game with a 8-2 run before Trevecca rallied with a 19-2 run. The
Pipers closed the gap to just 2 points (23-21) with a 11-2 run.
Trevecca continued the pattern with another 16-2 run that put them
ahead (39-23) for good. Trevecca held a 41-29 halftime lead.
The second half saw Trevecca hold on to their
lead despite a late rally by Lyon. Trevecca held of the Pipers
late rally and picked up a solid 11-point conference road win.
The Lady Trojans won the game despite playing without leading scorer
Jennifer Wilson. The sophomore didn't play due to flu like symptoms.
Trevecca hit 23 of 59 (46.0%) from the field,
2 of 4 (50.0 %) from three-point range, and 17 of 24 (70.8%) from the
foul line. Lyon won the battle of the boards 42-40, and forced
Lyon into 16 turnovers with 2 steals.
Ashley Boykin got the start in place of the
ill Jennifer Wilson. Boykin filled in nicely with a team high 15
points. Boykin also added 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Boykin
hit both of her 3-point attempts and was 4 of 9 from the field.
Jamie Mills scored 13 points and hit 6 of 9 from the field.
Mills, Boykin, and Stephanie Arnett all had 3 assists. Molly
Schoenberg scored 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Charity
Williams had 10 points and a team high 9 rebounds.
