Nashville, TN (2/01/01)-After Trevecca battled back to
tie the game at 8 points apiece with 15:12 remaining the first half,
Berry ran off a 8-2 run that gave them a 18-10 lead with 9:41 to go in
the half. Trevecca rallied and closed the gap to one (21-20) with
4:45 remaining the the half. Berry ran off 8 consecutive points
before settling for a 29-22 halftime lead.
Trevecca started the second half with a 17-4 run that
gave them a 39-35 lead with 11:40 to go in the game. The Lady
Trojans would never trail again and held on for a 55-49 victory.
The Lady Trojans hit 21of 64 (32.8%) from the field, 2 of
13 (15.4%) from three-point range, and 11 of 17 (64.7%) from the foul
line. Trevecca won the rebounding battle 45-43. Trevecca forced Berry
into 24 turnovers with 14 steals.
Molly Schoenberg led the team with 14 points, 9
rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. Jennifer Wilson scored 11
points and had 2 blocks. Jamie Mills scored 5 points and had 8
rebounds. Mills also led the team with 3 steals. Charity
Williams scored 7 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Williams also had
3 steals.
