Bringing to the court more than twenty years of coaching
experience, third-year Lady Trojans Assistant Coach Luis Del Rio is
a respected addition to the Trevecca Women's Basketball Program. Del
Rio is much loved by everyone on the Trevecca athletic staff for his
great humor and daily encouragement of others. It's hard to not
smile, once a person has encountered Coach Del Rio.
Besides his talent as a recruiter and scout, Del Rio will also
help guide the Lady Trojans this season. A 1969 graduate of Belmont
College, Del Rio taught and coached in the Metro Public School
System from 1970 to 1998. For fifteen years he served as a junior
high boys' coach, and for eleven years he served as the women's
coach at Antioch High School. In addition, Del Rio served as a
volunteer assistant with Belmont College Men's Basketball Program,
helping them to the Western Division Championship of the Volunteer
State Athletic Conference in 1983.
