(2/17/01)-Trevecca started the game with a 5-0 run and later led
14-7 before Martin Methodist took a 22-21 lead. Trevecca tied
the game at 25 apiece before the Indians ran off a 15-2 run to claim
a 13-point (40-27) lead. The Indians led 42-31 at
halftime.
The second half would see the
Trojans close the Indians lead ever so slowly. Eventually the
Trojans would pull to within 3 points on a three different
occasions. Each time the Indians would hold of the
Trojans. The Indians pulled away to claim a 4-point 68-64
victory. The loss breaks a season best 5 game win
streak. Trevecca had also won 7 of their last 8 games.
Trevecca hit 23 of 48 (47.9%) from
the field, 6 of 21 (28.6%) from three-point range, and 12 of 16
(75.0%) from the foul line. Trevecca won the battle of the
boards 36-32. Trevecca turned the ball over 28 times and were
only credited with 4 steals in the game. Martin had 17
turnovers with 15 steals.
Michael Blivens led the Trojans
with 18 points. Darryl Keckler hit for 17 points and was 2 for
4 from three-point range. Keckler also claimed 7
rebounds. Jared Austin had a team high 8
rebounds.
