(2/15/01)-Trevecca won its 11th game in 11 tries at home this season
with a 96-78 win over the Freed-Hardeman University Lions.
Trevecca is in the midst of its best season since the 19-14 team of
1996-97.
Trevecca and Freed-Hardeman battled
hard and close throughout the first half. There were 7 ties
and 4 lead changes in the first half alone. The largest lead
of the half was a brief 7-point lead by Trevecca with 1:39 to go in
the first half. The Trojans would hold onto a 5-point (42-37)
lead at the half.
The second half was as close as the
first half as neither team would lead by more than 9 points until
the 1:36 mark of the second half. With just 6:52 remaining in
the game Trevecca's lead was just 1-point (73-72). Trevecca
would begin to build its lead and pull away from the Lions to deny
them their 20th win of the season. In fact the Trojans would
end the game with a 20-6 run. Trevecca now leads the all-time
series with Freed-Hardeman 44-16. The Trojans have won their
last 5 games and 7 of the last 8.
Trevecca hit 36 of 63 (57.1%) from

Michael Blivens led the Trojans

Blivens 7th time with to score 30 or more points and his 16th game of at
least 20 points this season. Jeremy Austin continued the
historical night with 14 points. He needed 5 to become the
25th Trojan to reach the 1,000 point mark. Austin did it in
just 3 years as he played his freshmen season at Maryville
College. Eric Addie, Jeremy Austin, and Darryl Keckler all led
the team with 5 rebounds. Will Partin had a team high 6
assists.
